After reading the theme, I started with a bit of Bossa Nova inspiration to evoke that "elevator music" feel, while keeping the idea of a steady, ticking clock firmly in mind. The general concept revolved around imagining what the act of waiting  just before consciousness slips away sounds like.

I stopped after a day.

I spent half of September in a depressive episode, so both my lack of motivation to keep composing and the song vibe itself are largely explained by that experience.

Anyway, I saw the psychiatrist a few days ago and had enough time to reflect and shift my approach to the song—literally modulating to a different key to signal to myself that I was changing my mindset.

The phrase "Please be patient as you wait for your turn" wasn't the only one; the original idea also included the line "Was there anything worth the effort?" which I ended up replacing with "Was there anything you want to remember?" because it sounded less depressing—though I eventually cut that too, as I struggled to make it fit into the mix.

But at the end of the day, I’m happy with this song; it ended up being different from my usual way of composing and resulted in a much more cheerful vibe—likely reflecting the fact that there were indeed many things I wanted to remember.
